Today's Wonderful World of Jim
I am doing this particular blog post via MS Word. I have tried to find an equivalent for OpenOffice, but have had no luck so far. This is that How-To-Do-It down on the bottom of the Blogspot page once you are logged in. On With the Update!School ended last term with an unexpected twist. 4.0! I’m still carrying a 4.0! I even got 100% on the composition essay. I am very happy about this, and more than a little proud. This supports my guess that if I truly worked at it, I could be published someday. I will keep up the practice.Yesterday, Friday November 25th, the day before it rained, I actually went riding my bike. I went with Nataly and Richard, we met up at White Rock Lake (in Dallas), and had a very pleasant cool ride around a deserted bike trail in the middle of Dallas. The only reason I can figure it was so free of people was that it was a bit cool. Not the prettiest day in the world, but not windy at all. Right afterwards, we went to Jake’s, where DORBA meets after the Friday Night Group Ride. The burgers were okay, not great, and the tater tots were overcooked, but after a ten mile ride, a greasy meal and a light beer (I had Lone Star, Richard had Shiner Bock) is the perfect thing. When I rose to throw away my trash after eating, my muscles were already starting to lock up. Not the most pleasant feeling, but there it was. Today, the afternoon after, I am feeling pretty good. I am feeling very good.School is being a challenge. I have four classes, two of which are keeping me busy. The only problem is, I am not keeping up with the work as well as I should. I have not had problems with any assignments, but a couple of them have been late, and I am a bit behind. I just need to work a bit harder to keep up. I was spoiled a bit last term, not having to work that hard. With publishing this here, I reckon Kerry will chastise me for not getting off my lazy butt. A bit of motivation will help. It is embarrassing, and I just need to keep up the work. It’s not as if it’s rocket science, it’s just an Associate degree. It’s not that hard. I just need to keep up with the work.Okay, I do apologize for all the links. No, I don’t. I just discovered this minute how to do it with Word. I hope somebody puts together a similar thing with Open Office. I would try myself, but I have no idea where to even start. I could ask somebody here.
Amazing Things To Report (not that amazing)
It’s a Mind Boggling Thing!
It really is. The two final exams I took Friday were a cakewalk. In fact, they were both so easy that I am sure I completely crashed and burned. But I can not confirm this because the grades are not yet posted. You want to talk about Frustrating? Yeah. Like that.
Ok. I have two more finals to go on Monday, and then I am done for this term. I predict they will be relative cakewalks, too. Except that the English composition essay will be tough, like most essays. I just need to not panic, like I did not panic Friday either. Nothing to worry about.
I need to ride my bike Sunday. The weather promises to be a repeat of today (but I’m working today), so it will be extremely pleasant on the trails. Discounting the crowds, of course. But to that end, in the Dallas area, bikers tend to be roadies, who can’t imagine riding by themselves on a dirt trail where they might get scratched by a branch or get a leaky tire where nobody can watch them and be impressed that they are on a bicycle. I will probably call Richard, maybe he and Nataly will come along. His wife Nataly is a real babe. She has a True Spirit of a Texas Woman. She went riding with us a couple of months ago, out at Rowlett Creek. She had NEVER been on a mountain bike, and she had not been on a bike in years. We started easy (mostly), she remembered how to ride (it’s like…Uh, riding a bike), and she says she had a wonderful time. I got a report that they went riding in their neighborhood Thursday or Friday, and she was still a little nervous riding, so much so that her hands and forearms were cramped. He will get her gloves soon, and everything will be great. She is such a trooper. She is no lightweight little girl which seems to be so common in Dallas these days.
You want to know about another major babe? That’s Jat. She is my sweetie. She is a Major Sweetie. I haven’t seen or heard about such a wonderful lady in maybe decades. She is romantic, caring, thoughtful, … I will be glad to see her again in December. It is like she is an extension of the parts of my own character that are missing. When I am with her, or when I talk with her, I feel so much happier than otherwise. It is as if she is the parts of me that were missing for so many years. She completes me.
School is Fine
You know, it is an amazing thing. I knew when I started that going to school full-time to get an associate ticket would be a challenge, and I knew that I would have to actually work for decent grades. But here it is, the last full week before final exams, and I am averaging As in each class, and I am not worried about any of the finals. I have a feeling this coming Friday and the following Monday will be a simple cakewalk. Even the English Composition (Honors) is looking like a breeze. Since I am so comfortable with the whole situation, I could completely crash and burn. Or I could Ace every class again. Since this is my first term as a dedicated full-timer, I am a little nervous, but the past performance has been fairly simple so long as I don't panic. All together, it'll be a cakewalk.
I looked for books for next term, I will be buying three textbooks. Lots-o-money, but I need the things. If I knew the physics book was an older edition, I would get a used one, but my buddy/contact in the bookstore says they updated the edition on us. Oh Well. I have a feeling, just a feeling, that I could get away with using a much older book, not even the same publisher. Since this is simple application to Physics, no real breakthroughs have been made in the last ten years so I could ask the teacher. He is very lax in homework assignments, and so long as I have the equations available, maybe he will give me a break. Hmm. The Intro-to-Networking book looks to be mostly a CCNA cert course. Cisco certs never hurt a resume, so I will keep this book and memorize it. The Transistor/Diode course is in the latter chapters of the AC/DC book, and ... hmm ... Oh...Boolean Algebra...Digital Principles or some such nonsense. New Book There. I understand the Boolean course uses a new circuit board, so I have to wait for that. Otherwise, I'm about good to go.
Many Questions Answered!
Hey, I have finally discovered many things about this internet blogging bidness. First of all, comments from strangers will usually be advertisements. These can be stopped with the "human read the word" setting, I don't remember what it is called. Another thing is, I can post a photo here straight from my computer, without intervention software (which I understood to be absolutely necessary). Yet another thing, blogs seem to be more for the writer than for the reader. This is fine by me; sometimes I just need to vent my spleen and get some thoughts out.
So anyway...Kerry! Get into your blog settings and turn on the comment confirmation!
Now that I have figured out the how-to for loading pictures to my blog, I will be able to put pictures there as I have fun stuff to photograph. I hope it will make for a more interesting weblog.
Well, I Hope It Works

I finally got tired enough of the comments from "people" who like my blog on the condition I buy something from them. I'm REALLY glad to see the how-to for that!
So...
The young lady in the picture is the reason I will be going to Bangkok in December. Her name is Jatuporn, and she is the most incredible lady I have ever met. This is the lady I went to go meet back in June, all those very eloquent blog entries of before. Aren't you jealous? Anyway, I will be going to see her again, and I will be able to confirm my intentions with more of her friends, and hopefully more relatives.
These days, with going to school full time and working part time, I'm busy. Haven't ridden my bike at all for weeks, the only excuse is that it is too hot here lately. But today, the first day I am off work and have no school work, and the temperature is even down in the 60s and it hasn't rained is days...I still didn't ride. Ok.Hmph.

Goodness, Time Flies!
Okay, I am not sure if the title is better as an expression of surprise at the flow of time or an imperative to measure the speed of houseflies. I am posting this on the fly, so to speak, because I am at school and will be on the clock working in a scant 20 minutes. I am near the end of the current semester of study, taking 4 classes this term, and I will be taking a different 4 classes next term.
In December, I will be going to Thailand again to be with My Wonderful Sweetie. I tried to post a photo of us together in the previous post, but sometimes it works and other times it does not.
With all the busy-ness of work and school, I am not giving enough time to keep up a proper blog, for which I do apologize to both the readers. (Thanks, Kerry! Your blog rocks, too!) I have included a link to My Best Friend Kerry's blog, and it will do well for any others to check it out. He is one of my best friends in the whole world; not a title bestowed to people I've known for only a decade or so.
I suppose my main point now is that I just don't have the time to make this blog better than a complete shambles, but I will keep it going for the time being.
